Mari Anderson was nominated by one of her colleagues..
"Mari started at our school through an outside agency," explains her colleague. "She started with us last year, and it has been the best thing ever! We absolutely do not know what we would do without her. She is caring, accommodating, professional, kind, organized, positive, and the list just goes on and on. Having Mari with us during COVID has been an absolute life saver."
Ms. Anderson has done so many COVID-related items, in addition to seeing students for sports physicals, wellness checks, injuries, other sicknesses, etc. Her attendance is top notch, and she is truly committed to serving the district. The students and staff love seeing and working with Ms. Anderson. She is there for anything medically-related and will drop what she's doing at the drop of a dime to assist any way that she can.
"Not only does she medically treat our students, but she also presents to different classes and educates the students on various topics," said her colleague. "She also sits on many committees for us and is definitely a true asset to our district, families, and staff. We love having Mari as part of our team!"
In my 20 years of teaching, I have never witnessed a scenario in which a single individual has made such an impact on an entire district. Mari provides a thoughtful and caring approach to our entire community, with a desire to provide insight and direction for the health of it's children and school employees. Her hours are long and her stress level (especially through this pandemic) is high, but she doesn't let that show. Mari and the support she provides, are truly a gift to all of us.
I am grateful to have Mari as part of the owl family. She is dedicated and hardworking. She is never too busy to stop to help or answer questions. Mari's compassion and caring is evident with all of her interactions.
Mari is an amazing nurse and friend! Mari continuously goes out of her way to assist her school and community members. Mari has always been incredibly kind, patient, and generous with her time and energy. The Owl Community is so lucky to have such a hard worker in their school. Mari’s takes all of her roles very seriously and I’m so proud to call her my friend.

We are beyond blessed to have Mari as part of our OAS staff. The positive impact that she has on our school community is top notch. It is too hard to fully put into words just how wonderful it has been to have her with us. Students absolutely LOVE her. She makes sure the students and the staff are always taken care of, anyway that she can help she does. She goes above and beyond on a daily basis and we could not be more grateful to have her. She is extremely deserving of this honor as we know without her on our team we wouldn't have been able to overcome some of the major hurdles over the past year and a half. We love her!

The addition of the Owl Health Clinic has been a blessing beyond measure for our students, staff and community. With the challenges that have confronted our organization, the program and its dedication to service has been critical to our ability to provide essential health services to our kids that are in dire need. The commitment of the team is reflected through the efforts of individuals working in the same direction and Mari Anderson’s dedication to service is of the highest caliber and has been pivotal to our efforts to nurture the whole child. Mari is always able to answer any question I may have and responds quickly, professionally and pleasantly. She has been a fantastic addition to Oscoda Area Schools, very glad to have her through AHC at the Owl Clinic
Mari has been so supportive of student athletes & coaches at Oscoda Area Schools! She completed numerous physicals, came to the aid of athletes with injuries, attended games cheering on student athletes. She is known for establishing positive relationships with students & staff. I have so much respect & admiration for her dedication & willingness to do everything with kindness and the upmost integrity. The Owl community is so fortunate to have such a positive life changer on campus!
Mari is always there whenever I need her. There’s been a few times where she stepped right up to help me when my son was not feeling well. She’s an amazing person and we are lucky to have her serving us.

Mari is one of the kindest, caring and generous providers I have met! She is extremely knowledgeable and has one of the biggest hearts in the world! She has been there for me on multiple occasions when she was completing her clinicals here in Lincoln and I will remember how caring and kind she was to me when I needed someone to tell me everything was going to be ok. Her bedside manner is outstanding! I am so grateful that Mari is employed with AHC because we definitely need more providers like her!
I've known Mari all her life. She has always been a very caring and outstanding person. I helped coordinate her educational rotations at our clinic when she was in school to become a nurse practitioner. The comments from the providers about the quality of care she provided during her training were very positive! When she finally came to work with us, I was so happy because I knew how important health and wellness for the people in her community and in her practice are to Mari! She is so deserving of this award!

I am the Behavioral Health Director at Alcona Citizen's for Health, Inc. Our BH Provider at the OWL extension has commented about how easy it is to work with Mari and how community oriented she is.
