Dawn Harrison was nominated by her former colleague, Stacy Whittington.

"Dawn always goes above and beyond for her students," explains Whittington. "Dawn will work with students during her prep and lunch if they need help. When there is a student who's struggling, she goes above and beyond to get them caught up. She makes sure they understand the concepts that are being taught. In her district, there are students who come from tough backgrounds, and she goes out of her way to help them feel safe. She gives them a safe place to come for help. Dawn also works to help students work harder in school. She comes up with incentives and is so encouraging to students."
