Karen Guenette was nominated by her colleague, Al Amaral.

Ms. Guenette has been in the role of school principal at Old Colony for the past two years. Her commitment to her students, parents and staff is apparent by the countless hours she spends in the school community. Her principles of hard work, dedication, and fairness are always at the surface of any decisions she makes. Ms. Guenette often takes the time to greet all students and staff members anytime she sees them, and knows many of the students by name.

"She evaluates many circumstances with a fair but firm stance, and is always looking out for the best interests of her students," Amaral said.
