LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Melissa Hernandez was nominated by her former principal, Lisa Estrada-Batson. 

"I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to hire this amazing LifeChanger at Col. John O. Ensor Midde School as our campus' Registered Nurse during the pandemic," explains Estrada-Batson. "She is an active military Navy mom and a supportive wife. Now, she was going to lead the largest middle school in our district through one of the most challenging events in our lifetime!"

Nurse Hernandez came on board with her beaming smile, positive attitude, and compassionate heart. She tackled each and every situation and concern that came her way. Her priorities were to inform staff and to care for the students, families, and campus team. She continues to remain committed to keeping everyone safe, working long hours to ensure her documentation, findings, and support remain consistent for all families. She is strong, dedicated, and is always making herself available to care for others.

"For these reasons, and so many others that would turn this essay into a novel, I nominate Mrs. Melissa Hernandez, Campus Nurse and forever a LifeChanger at Col. John O. Ensor Middle School. We are, and will be, forever grateful for her service to our community," says Estrada-Batson.
