Music that Describes Eren
Eren Hendrix was nominated by her principal, Matt Grubbs.
"When the doors open to welcome the 560 students to Coventry Elementary, there is Mrs. Hendrix," explains Grubbs. "Mrs. Hendrix is our building nurse. The staff, students, and community count on her and rely on her for all sorts of things, from diagnosing head lice, to handing out band-aids, to administering COVID rapid tests. Her job description has changed, but her smile and caring attitude only got stronger."
Mrs. Hendrix never gets frazzled or angry. No matter what insurmountable task is at hand, she makes a difference every moment in the lives of the students she sees. A clear example is when she gets off the phone after letting an upset parent know their child was considered a close contact and would need to quarantine for 14 days. At the same time, she's able to provide ice to a kindergartener who just bumped their leg, all with a smile.
"The Coventry community is lucky to have such a person in their lives," said Grubbs.

Eren is the best! She is a vital part of our school community at Coventry Elementary. From the kids to the staff, Eren is always there for our ills! Not only does Eren put in hard, hard work, but she always takes the time explain what we go to her for. She is never rushed or impatient. We love you Eren!

You deserve this so much. When June was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes last year, I didn’t know how I would ever let her out of my sight. Let alone, rely on someone to care of her an entire day away. You have made this so easy for me and June! I don’t worry about her when she’s at school because I know you and the rest of the school got her covered. On top of keeping her safe and healthy, you have many other students to care for! You do all of this with a calmness and kindness that is such a blessing to all of us. Thank you for all you do!
Eren is the best nurse. I have never seen a more caring, genuine person. She loves all of our kiddos and goes the extra mile to make certain they are taken care of. We are so luck y to have her as our nurse!
Eren has been a wonderful addition to the Coventry family. We have had to lean more on her in the past few years due to COVID and she has always filled the needs of students and staff seamlessly in the building. We could not have survived all of the health changes that have come our way without her expertise and gentle care. You deserve this award for all you do for us, Eren! I have had the privilege to work with Eren the past 5 years at Coventry Elementary. Over these past 5 years, I have seen how Eren has made an impact on our community. She is always working to hard to support our students and families no matter what. She knows what kids need to be successful and works hard to make that happen. I always feel supported by her when I need assistance helping a child get what they need to be successful! She has kept a positive attitude despite the added stress of the pandemic. Navigating this situation without her out would have been so difficult. We truly would not be able to make it without her.
We are so lucky to not only have Eren as our school nurse, but to know her. She is one of the most caring, loving, and compassionate people around. Congrats on your nomination, Eren.
