Rebecca Rosbolt was nominated by multiple colleagues and community members.
Ms. Rosbolt has been the only district nurse for the second largest school district in Michigan for years. Utica has 42 schools, and she works tirelessly with staff, students, parents, administrators, and the community. Becky was the solo district nurse during the pandemic, managing COVID as well as the coverage of the day to day health care needs.
During that time, she has maintained professionalism and courtesy. She has been responsive to educators, parents, and students. Ms. Rosbolt attends every meeting that she is called to, and she provides professional development to over 1,400 educators. She never complains or blames others. She maintains professional relationships with outside physicians and is always up to date on the latest medical news and issues.
Ms. Rosbolt is sweet, positive, compassionate, maintains confidentiality, and is professional with students, staff, and family.

Rebecca Rosbolt is an exceptional school nurse. As the only school nurse at the start of the global COVID 19 pandemic, she developed process and procedures, contact tracing, health and safety for all students. Becky accomplished this on top of her usual responsibility of training, care, and planning for the health care plans of students. She is outstanding and deserving of this Lifechanging nomination and award.
Becky Rosbolt is an untiring advocate in supporting the health care needs of students, staff and members of our community. During the beginning of the pandemic Becky was our sole nurse. She developed procedures, completed much of the contact tracing on her own, and worked to train all of us on how to be safe. Becky is incredible and so deserving of not only the nomination but of being the Lifechanger of the Year award recipient. She changed the lives for the better of over 26,000 students and our community. Becky Rosbolt is exceptional!
I have worked with Becky for years at several schools in the district. She is compassionate, caring and a true professional. She has a knack for gently explaining medical issues in a way that is easily understandable. I have been in countless meetings with her and observed how she's able to put parents at ease. Her demeanor and patience is appreciated. As a colleague, I can count on her to assist me quickly and succinctly. She never hesitates to make time in her schedule to help me and others. She is an outstanding member of the UCS community and well-deserving of this recognition.
When I think of Becky, I think of superwoman. That is exactly what she is to Utica Community Schools. She is the hardest working person I have ever met. She handled the health needs of 40 buildings on her own for years, and did so with compassion, grace, and a positive attitude. She managed to be present in all of the buildings, develop health care plans, cover health aides, and attend to students when needed, all with a smile on her face. Becky is SO knowledgeable about health conditions/diseases/current best practice in the school system. She stays up to date and is always seeking out learning opportunities to better serve her staff and students, as well as being involved in numerous committees to report back to the other nurses in the MISD. Becky works endless hours, from before the sun comes up, to well after the sun goes down, to ensure that all of the students are cared for and the staff are equipped for their student's health needs. Acting as a liaison between the health department and all 40 buildings during COVID, she has always put the health and safety of students and staff as her number one priority. She is absolutely inspiring. I truly look up to her and feel so lucky I get to learn from the best nurse I've ever met. There is no one more deserving of this award. Becky has been a lifechanger to over 27,000 students for years, and I am so excited that she is able to be recognized for all of her unending efforts to keep her students safe as a lifechanger of the year. Thank you for all you do Becky, you are so loved and appreciated by everyone at UCS!
LifeChanger is an understatement when it comes to Becky! I am truly in awe of her and how she juggles it all. She goes above and beyond, 24/7 for all her students, staff and colleagues and she does it with a smile on her face. She pours her efforts into all she does. I do not know how she balances it all but she does it and she does a phenomenal job of it. She answers any and all questions, gives you the facts so you can understand them, and puts student safety and families first. She is beyond deserving of this award and I hope she knows how much we truly value her in UCS!
Becky Is the type of person that goes above and beyond for not only her students and families but anyone she meets! She services a district with over 30000 students. She does not complain but shows up with a heart to listen and assist in any way possible! Not only is she a LifeChanger in her school community but leaves a little light in everyone she encounters! She def deserves this award!
Rebecca is an amazing colleague and friend. She has been the only school nurse for the second largest district in Michigan with over 26,000 students. She works tirelessly to manage the students with chronic health conditions (diabetes, seizures, asthma, food allergies, etc.). Her primary goal is to insure that the children she serves are safe and educated. Rebecca is convicted to making sure that educators, transportation staff, food service staff, and all support staff in Utica Community Schools are knowledgeable in the care of all of the students.
During the pandemic, her work load has quadrupled. Yet, she continues to maintain her passion and professionalism.
Rebecca is the consummate professional. She interacts with parents, staff, community members with grace and calm. As a colleague, she has been extremely supportive. Rebecca deserves this award, as she has positively influenced the lives of so many!
You always go above and beyond for the students and staff. You ensure that staff is informed on students medical concerns, so they are comfortable at meeting the students needs. You find time to be in all the meetings even if it is a virtual meeting and you are in your car in the parking lot for your next meeting. Becky you are amazing!!
Rebecca gives her all to her job and is so passionate about what she does. She goes above and beyond, providing care and advice for many, many students and teachers as a district school nurse. Rebecca is professional and kind even when faced with a stressful situation. I can’t think of a more deserving individual for this honor.

Ms. Rosbolt has been such an amazing guide to all of us in UCS, and when I say all of us, I mean ALL of us. She probably gets hundreds of calls, every single day and night. She answers, she helps, she advises, she mentors, she cares. She was the only nurse for our entire district, almost 20K students- 2,500+ Staff. One nurse. One. In addition to all the medical needs, diabetic, seizure, allergy, special/medical needs and care- Becky teaches para pros, secretaries, admins, how to care for our children. Once covid hit- she handled everything, and continues to do so today with the continuing changes.
Personally, Becky is one of the kindest, sweetest people I know. She’s funny, she’s honest, she’s so knowledgeable and smart. We are so lucky to have her in UCS. She’s so very deserving of this honor.
Thank you Becky for keeping all of our students healthy and safe. My daughter was lucky to have you taking care of her needs. You have done so much to keep our diabetic students (as well as other needs) safe at school. Thank you for fighting for what they need!
