Jen McMullin was nominated by her colleague, Linda Schmitt.

Ms. McMullin's professional and personal value cannot be measured. She has been an integral part of her building and district for her students, their familes, and her colleagues. She is quick to care for students and staff, and she educates them in all areas of mental and physical wellness to ensure positive school experiences.  Her quiet and confident approach has established great rapport and relationships with all that know her. This has helped create a positive school culture and connection within her community.  

Ms. McMullin takes an important role with mandated trainings, which give her colleagues vital information on many issues that impact students in the district, such as diabetes, AEDs, seizure plans, food allergies, anaphylactic reactions, etc. Her participation in IEPs/504s is necessary and valued.  She is instrumental in the planning process for students who are navigating through cancer, other medical needs, and day-to-day medical concerns.

It's important to mention that Ms. McMullin has led the charge for her district's response to COVID-19. Her dedication has also been witnessed at the vaccine clinics within her community.  She has been diligent in all aspects of mitigating the affects of COVID-19 in her school, district, and community.  She can always be counted on to be professional with students, family members, staff, and the community.  

Her calm, confident demeanor puts many at ease when handling situations.  She is the most well-known person within her building. Students frequently pop in to greet and check-in with Ms. McMullin. She welcomes each and every one.  

Ms. McMullin's moral and ethical standards do not go unnoticed.  She is the ulimate professional when handling direct care needs, discussions in meetings, and private conversations.  

"Jen is truly deserving, and we are lucky to have her in our building, district, and community," said Schmitt. "She has definitely changed all of our lives for the better!"

Jen is an exceptional School Nurse and person who is constantly looking to support others. Professionally I am proud to work alongside Jen in the daily challenges of a school system during a pandemic. From a personal side, Jen's attention to detail and genuine caring for all kids is a blessing for all those she comes into contact with. Thankful for you! JD

Totally support this nomination Linda! Well said! Jen is such a life changer in so many student’s lives. She is truly the best and I hope she gets all the recognition she deserves!!! So glad I have been able to work with her during my teaching career. Such a blessing. Congrats Jen! Love ya!
