LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Juan Cordoba was nominated by his colleague, Javier Chaparro.

According to Chaparro, Mr. Cordoba has been a LifeChanger ever since he joined Dallas ISD. Mr. Cordoba has inspired many professionals in education to excel in their teaching practices, which has helped students achieve their maximum academic and social potential. He has contributed to the development of students in areas of extreme poverty in Dallas.

Chaparro has enjoyed working with Mr. Cordoba on several projects at different schools. Mr. Cordoba has always displayed a strong dedication and initiative. His professionalism and high standards of ethics, along with his commitment to serve students, parents, staff, and community members, has allowed him to become a highly recognized educator. He is also a highly skilled administrator who has helped turn around some schools. He uses his knowledge of systems and procedures to implement continuous improvement processes throughout the organizations he has worked at. His analytical capacity allows him to determine the best course of action based on data collected after implementing changes.   

While working with him at Stevens Park Elementary and Boude Storey Middle School, Chaparro noticed how Mr. Cordoba was highly appreciated by teachers, faculty members, students, and parents.
