Michelle Hewitt was nominated by her colleagues, Abra Vaughn and Erica Jones. The following profile contains text from each nomination.

Nurse Hewitt is an amazing individual who fearlessly took control of the COVID-19 pandemic at her school and made everyone feel safe.  She educated staff and students, and she made sure that those who came in contact with COVID were excluded until they were medically released. She always makes anyone and everyone feel safe and loved, and she is a true asset to Belle Chasse Middle School.

"Michelle has the disease to please," said Vaughn. "She cannot say no. She works tirelessly every day and, since COVID-19, works tirelessly at night, too. Michelle always puts students, faculty, and staff members before herself, and is rarely seen taking a break. I think all of us would not know how to handle things if she were to ever leave us. We love her so much!"

Michelle has been my children's school nurse for several years, and I now have the pleasure of working with Michelle. Her patience, compassion, and warm, soft voice with the children are what make her a special nurse. The children love her, as well as the staff, and her colleagues. Michelle is always willing to answer any questions or concerns any of her peers may have, always ready to lend a helping hand. This nomination is, very much, well deserved!
