Stephanie Petersen was nominated by her colleague, Angelica Mendoza.

Ms. Petersen is a LifeChanger for so many reasons. If you need help on a task or a job you don't quite get, she'll train you and help you understand. She never makes you feel unappreciated. She is always warm-hearted to the staff and students. Ms. Petersen pushes you to better yourself and is always supportive.

"For me, Ms. Petersen's a LifeChanger because she's always willing to listen and help any way she can, both in and outside of work," said Mendoza.

Words will never adequately express why Stephanie Petersen is the Life Changer of the year not only for me but anyone that may be lucky enough to meet her. I got the amazing opportunity to work as Stephanie's paraprofessional for 3 years. Those 3 years I will forever cherish and Stephanie is a big part of it. Stephanie accepted me fully for who I am. She always encouraged me to be the best I could be, and often believed in me when I didn't. I got to watch her care for each one of her students and truly want them to be as successful as they possibly can. The things I learned from her in those 3 short years will always stay with me and have changed my life forever.

I have worked with Stephanie for many years. She is not only supportive and positive to the people she works with she is that same way to the blind students. She has made such a difference in their lives and has helped the students learn braille and taught them things they will need to know to be able to live independently when they are older. We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful teacher in our mist. She helps us all to be better. Candy

Stephanie, I see your efforts and dedication to our students everyday. I have personally been witness to the way you have helped to shape and inspire your students and know what a LifeChanger you are. The students are so very blessed to have you in their corners to help face and explore all of their life's challenges and we are very lucky to have as a member of our teaching staff.
