Linda Check was nominated by her colleague, Melissa Overstreet.
"Miss Check is an amazing teacher," Overstreet said. "She builds relationships, not only with her students, but with every child walking down our hallway. She teaches in a special education preschool program with peer models and children with special needs. No child or parent leaves her class without feeling as if they were the most special or loved one there. In her spare time, she teaches at Dance without Limits, a special needs dance class. She also teaches special needs Sunday School and babysits for families who, without her, would never get a night out for themselves or family events. She also spends time each summer at Camp Smile. Her love for her students is genuine and real, and she truly believes in helping each child to their fullest potential."
I have worked with Ms. Check for the past 4 years as her assistant. She is the most loving an giving person I know. Ms. Check gives from her heart. She loves all children but she is so amazing with special needs kids an their families . She is so deserving of this award an many more

Ms. Check! When Ryan had you for 2 years in pre-k he was so nervous his 1st day but you made him feel like he was your own child! You treated him like he was your own. He use to come home and talk all about his day with you and his friends in class. You even went out of your way and always checked on Austin to make sure he was doing well. Any time you saw Austin you would make sure you’d say hi. Your the most kind hearted person! It sucked when Covid hit and it was Ryan’s last year of pre k and we didn’t even get to say goodbye! I want to thank you for being the most amazing teacher we have ever had! Ryan misses you till this day he still asks about you!!! Thank you for all you did for my boy!!!
Ms.Check is my almost 4 year old son’s “Easton” pre-K teacher. My son is on the the spectrum and socially has challenges in large groups, conversations, and loud noises. He was accepted into her class and from day 1, I’ve had an overwhelming amount of peace that he was in the right place and Ms. Check was made for this. He loves school, he loves Ms. Check, he tells me that she is his friend. He’s definitely adjusting and excelling in ways I know he would not without such a wonderful teacher. Every child deserves a Ms. Check but for our babies that have to work a little harder to get there, she’s the love and push they need.
My little boy won the lottery when he landed in Ms. Check's preK class. She goes above and beyond and I can tell she loves all her students. And even though he's no longer in his class, she still encourages and supports him in and out of school. We love Ms. Check. She's changed our lives every year since we've known her.
Ms. Check is an amazing SPED Pre-K teacher and an equally amazing person! She loves all students and is a great advocate. I’m so proud to know her and be able to witness what she does and how she interacts with students on a daily basis! She inspires us all to be better teachers and advocates for each and every child. She is most deserving of this award! ??
Linda is very deserving of this honor. I know her as a special needs preschool colleague in my school district. It takes a very special heart with lots of love and patience to fulfill this job. From all I've seen and heard in her career, she gets my vote!

Linda, Linda, Linda! Listen Linda. The kindest human on the the planet. There is no one, I mean no one, more deserving than Linda Check. She loves her babies without a doubt, but goes above and beyond for each of them as well as their families. If I could only be 1/2 the person as Linda. The world definitely needs more LINDA's!!!!
Such a selfless and noble teacher
Miss Check is a light on a hill. She shines bright and give hope to families that struggle with the challenges that go along with special needs children. Her classroom is always filled with the joy and warmth that one associates with home. I have seen her work wonders with children others had given up on. I could go on and on but needless to say Miss Check deserves this award and so much more.

Linda, where do I begin about Linda? Linda, is caring, compassionate, loving, hardworking, considerate, kind -hearted, beautiful, selfless….. the list could do on. I have known Linda for around 10 years now and I can only say great things about her! If you know her, you know she’s loved her babies! Her life revolves around her special needs babies, in school and outside of school. She is the definition of COMPASSIONATE when it comes to her students and those she cares for outside of school! There is not a single person that deserves this more than Linda!

When I think of the words giving, loving and selfless I think of Linda Check. I know her on a personal level and a professional level. She is an amazing special education teacher who pours everything she has into helping her students reach their full potential! She is also our number one babysitter! We have four children that we entrust to Linda on a regular basis. One of our children has severe special-needs -Cerebral palsy, is non verbal and tube fed. I trust her to care for him and she does it so well! I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this honor!
Ms. Check doesn’t just love her kiddos; she ADORES them. She goes beyond anything expected of her to ensure that every single child in her classroom feels loved, valued, appreciated, special, and protected. She is an amazing teacher who blesses every family who enters her path. She more than deserves this award ??
