Melissa Schieffer was nominated by Denise Aden, the parent of a student.
"Melissa is a fantastic teacher who goes above and beyond for her students and their parents," said Aden. "Several times, she has come in early to make sure my son got his medication and breakfast before school started so I could go to a medical appointment. She calls, texts, and arranges everything during Hybrid learning. Melissa even spent time during the summer communicating with summer school teachers and providing a motivational reward for my son."
I have worked first hand with Melissa! She goes above and beyond with her students. She arrives early and stays late. She will make sure that her children are fed, even if it means making accommodations for them. She will go out of her way to help a student.
Ms. Schieffer is the definition of a life changer! She goes above and beyond each and every day, working tirelessly to impact the lives of her students. She has been incredibly impactful and influential on the life of my nephew—generous with her time and talents. She is an incredible teacher and is so deserving of this award!!

Mrs Schieffer is the definition of a life changer. She continuously goes above any beyond to meet the needs of her students. We love her and are very thankful of the support she has given our son and his learning over the last 3 years. He looks forward to seeing her and being at school. Mrs Schieffer is definitely the best communicator. We always know how we can support our son when he is at home. We are so lucky to have her on our team. I have the privilege to work with Melissa. She arrives early to school to make sure her students are ready to have a great start to their day, she skips her lunch break often to work with her students and is there late to prepare for the next day. Her students love her and give their best and work hard for her everyday. Your are one of the best and have changed so many young lives!
