Richard James was nominated by his colleague, Lori Singleton.
Dr. James is a phenomenal teacher and an outstanding mentor. He has dedicated his life to serving others, not only in the school system, but throughout the community. He feeds the homeless. Dr. James is also a volunteer police officer, and he serves his community alongside his fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha. He is also is an instructor at Wayne County Community College and a mentor to many of the students who transition from high school to college. Dr. James graduated from the illustrious Morehouse College.
"As a current principal and administrator for more than 11 years, Richard James is a game changer and a trail blazer," said Singleton. "He improves the lives of many young people and takes on life's challenges with zeal and dedication like no other."
