Shauna Lewkowicz was nominated by a parent of a student, Mike Hammoud.

"First, I would love to thank Mrs. Lewkowicz for her dedication and patience with the kids, and how she influences them. She is a great example of an amazing teacher," said Hammoud. "Initially, my six year-old son went through tough times during the pandemic, trying to learn the technology while focusing on school learning. Mrs. Lewkowicz made it a breeze for him. He would grasp the information with her quickly compared to when we worked with him at home. He finished his class with the knowledge necessary to do his homework and understand why he is answering in a certain way. My son hated attending the online school at first, but Mrs. Lewkowicz worked with him and so many other students I know. She made them so excited to log on in the morning and share their stories and activities with her."

"Mrs. Lewkowicz is an ideal teacher," said Hammoud. "She created a perfect atmosphere for the kids to be positive, active, and happy. My kid shared his stories every week with his ups and downs. She made him feel very excited and comfortable to talk about things freely. She created a day that passed with ease and lots of learning. My son started the school year with average NEWA testing, but with Mrs. Lewkowicz's dedication and teaching, he was on the 99% percentile by the end of the school year, which gave him pride and confidence that will stay with him as a great establishment for his future challenges." 

"Mrs. Lewkowicz was very responsive to any questions or comments that we had, and she gave us a great sense of comfort while our child was in the school session," said Hammoud. "She was always attentive if any of the students lost focus, and she directed them back again. She was always in continuous communication with parents, providing recommendations and extra work if needed to help their child function at deserved levels. "Mrs. Lewkowicz is a great leader, not only in her position as a teacher, but throughout the building, joining activities and helping others."

"This was the first time we had to do online schooling with our kids, and I was happy that Mrs. Lewkowicz was their teacher because of the great experience we had when our older son attended third grade with her six years ago," said Hammoud. "We liked her teaching style and skills during in-person teaching. Now, we love her style and ability to adjust to the new way of learning. Mrs. Lewkowicz is very ethical and doesn't consider her dedication to the kids as a job or a paycheck only."

"Again, I thank Mrs. Lewkowicz for everything she has done for the students," said Hammoud. "She gives them confidence and prepares them for the future, with a great baseline that will help them get through challenges successfully."
