"Not only does Ms. Hamlin go above and beyond daily in the classroom, but she also takes the time to build personal relationships with her students," said the nominator. "She recently had a student who was diagnosed with cancer. While the student went through treatment, Ms. Hamlin took care of the family by dropping off dinners, visiting her student at the hospital and at home, etc. She also started volunteering for an organization, Big Love Cancer Care, on her free time. She is a gem!"
