Lauren Vasquez was nominated by an anonymous parent of a student.

"During the pandemic, my son was unable to turn in his homework," said the nominator. "Mrs. Vasquez did all that she could to make sure my son was safe and was able to have at least some part of his education. When I was sick, she personally came to my home to drop off and pick up materials. She did this even though she had a baby of her own to take care of. There were a few times when my son didn't feel like doing anything, and Mrs. Vasquez would call and text outside of our scheduled meetings to talk to him. She always made us feel like he was her only student. She is so caring and dedicated. Because of her, my son is where he is supposed to be for his grade level and has even tested out for some parts. Mrs. Vasquez really made a difference."
