“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” – Mahatma Gandhi Tracie Eschenburg embodies this quote. She is truly a change agent.and a LifeChanger. Tracie was in large part one of just a couple of people that presented an opportunity and paved the way for me to land in the Port Huron Area Schools. I have the utmost respect for her. She is amazing in her job and even better as a human. I believe that you see a person’s true character when times are tough. These last couple of years under a cloud of COVID when education couldn’t have been much tougher, Tracie led with a calm and steady demeanor. She always keeps kids and our employees front and center. As The Director of Staff and Student Services, Tracie was instrumental in bringing an Employee Assistance Program to the district. She has been the point person for our newly formed Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Both of these changes are tremendous additions to the PHASD. Tracie listens; is non-judgmental; and makes informed decisions. She is responsive and not reactive. She is professional, approachable and personable. Tracie Eschenburg is truly a LifeChanger.

Tracie Eschenburg has had such a positive impact on the Port Huron Area School Community. One of her greatest character traits is integrity and that shines in her work. She is the perfect combination of intelligence and wisdom mixed with empathy and understanding. Tracie is the definition of a servant leader. She was always ready and willing to support in my three years at Port Huron and I am confident that my colleagues would say the same. Congratulations!

I have watched Tracie for nearly 3 decades devote her life to the education and support of the youth in our community. It has been incredible to see the heart and soul that she has put into her career as a teacher, principal and an administrator. The respect I have witnessed from so many of her peers and their faith in her mentorship, judgement and opinion is incredible. It speaks volumes to her character and dedication to the mission of placing our youth ahead of all things. This sometimes means making tough decisions, working harder and often making personal sacrifices in order to do the right thing. It is because of her dedication, belief and faith in the mission of service and professional courage that has made Tracie a difference maker.

Tracie is a dedicated, hardworking advocate for Port Huron Schools and the St. Clair County region in general. Whether discussing or working with students or employees, she always puts the individual's best interests first. She answers her phone and her texts in a timely manner and is always willing to hash out an issue or situation with you. I have enjoyed working with her as a substitute, a teacher, and now an administrator. She is truly a servant leader that changes lives. #LifeChanger

Tracie has done so much for our community during her tenure in education. Tracie has worked in two different districts within St. Clair County. She has improved the education landscape in our entire county, not just Marysville or Port Huron by focusing on what is best for children. As stressful as Tracie's job can be, she always answered the phone. I have never seen her angry or frustrated, even though I am sure there were times she was. Tracie is a friend and a mentor, and I look forward to seeing where the next chapter in life takes her; I have no doubt that wherever that may be, it will be positively impacting the lives of others.

Thank you for bringing me back home Tracie. During a time when I was pretty defeated professionally you put your trust in me and gave me a new hope. I won't forget that. I will always remember you for treating everyone with high regard and as professionals. You will be greatly missed and one huge void will be left in your absence. That said, I'm very happy for you and your family. Enjoy your next journey and be Blessed. Charlie

Tracie is one of the most dedicated professionals I have ever worked with. She is not only exemplary in her work ethic, but in her relationships with colleagues. She shows others by example every day how to be a Lifechanger. She has impacted my life as her co-worker for the better as I have learned so much from her leadership. Her positive impact on our district and the students and staff it serves are truly immeasurable.
