Myrna Campbell was nominated by her colleague, Elizabeth Eckerle.
Ms. Campbell has instructed students in the Talented Art Program for numerous years. She shares her creativity and skills with students in grades 1-5 who qualify for the program. She conducts screenings to identify students for the Talented Art Program. In addition to teaching her assigned, talented students, Ms. Campbell teaches art to regular students in weekly enrichment classes.
Ms. Campbell is active in promoting the Talented Art Program. She finds opportunities to showcase students' work, including the "Art in Bloom" exhibit at the Art Museum, exhibits at the Audubon Zoo, and on school bulletin boards. During this past year, which was filled with unprecedented challenges, Ms. Campbell reached out to all of her students, teaching face-to-face and virtually at the same time. She helped ease students' anxiety and fear by encouraging them to create art.
