Carolann Green was nominated by Michelle Mason, a parent of a student.

"My daughter had one of the best school years ever," explains Mason. "It was also a year like no other. It was virtual school, then hybrid for the last three months of the school year. Even though my daughter disliked the virtual platform for her education at that point, Ms. Green made learning fun, interesting and rewarding."

Ms. Green's lessons are so lively, educational, and fun. They have a lot of creativity and information to help the children learn content. She also speaks to the children about their lives in an engaging and friendly way that's still appropriate. She's genuinely concerned about the wellbeing of all her students.

Ms. Green has something called "Lunch Brunch," which is totally optional for the children. It gives them a safe and nurturing area for them to play video games or do fun stuff after lunch. This was all done on a virtual platform, but it helped the students get through that tough time! She went above and beyond her role as a teacher.

Whenever there was an event with students, you could always count on Ms. Green to make a splash. During a read aloud event, she not only read a book, but did an experiment for the children to view. Again, this was also a virtual event. Her attitude was always upbeat and so positive for the children during this crucial time of virtual school, when most students were zoned out, bored, or disengaged with school. She put excitement and pleasure into learning activities.

"I believe Ms. Green is a model teacher," said Mason. "She will only get better with each passing year as she grows and develops into a senior teacher with additional experience. She knows how to reach the children, be creative, and make the best out of whatever she has to work with. I remember her welcome back to school video she made last school year. It was entertaining, informative, lively, and so creative! I smiled and was really glued to her content. I became excited for the school year after viewing it! Because learning was virtual, I would be listening to most of her lessons and thinking, 'I would've liked to have a Ms. Green as a teacher when I was in school!'"

"My daughter was very engaged in her lessons," said Mason. "She would tell me: 'Ms. Green makes learning fun and interesting. She makes you want to learn and be in class.' My daughter loved her teacher last year. She told me Ms. Green is the best teacher she's ever had, and she would be glad to have her every year, for every class!"

"Teachers like Ms. Green make a definite impact," said Mason. "Her students really learned in her class, and they'll never forget about how she showed them the joy of learning. It'll be a domino effect in their lives because each of her students reach further than they would've without having Ms. Green as their teacher. I saw this for one school year during virtual/hybrid learning. I can't imagine what her regular, in-person lesson program is like. I'm sure it's fantastic and creative!"
