I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Leah in her last year as an Educational Audiologist. Coming from the clinic with no experience in the school system, Leah took me under her wing. She was so patient with all my questions and guided me every step of the way. She taught me how to work with all the assistive listening equipment and showed me what was expected of me in my new role. I would not have been successful this year without Leah by my side. She has been such a great mentor to me this past year and she will surely be missed! I am so glad I had the chance to work with Leah and learn from her. She had so much to teach to me this past year and I was lucky enough to get all her 20 plus years of expertise packed in to one!

Leah Conlin is retiring as the Jefferson Parish School Board East Bank Audiologist. She has been in that position for twenty plus years. She is truly an asset to Jefferson Parish School Board and will be surely missed and hard to replace. She has always gone above and beyond helping all Hearing Impaired children in our school system! She has the patience of a Saint dealing with not only the hearing impaired student but also the parents of those children and the teachers and administrators servicing those students. She has always been professional in delivering her services to everyone that she has helped over her career. The Jefferson Parish School System has definitely reaped the benefit of Mrs. Conlin’s employment and she leaves the system a better system. I personally wish her the best in her retirement and any all future endeavors!

Ms. Conlin has been a wonderful asset to Jefferson Parish for over 20 years in Educational Audiology and will be greatly missed. She has provided her expertise in making sure each child that she works with needs are being met. She has been a wealth of knowledge to the families she interacts with and all the professional staff. She is dedicated to making sure she makes recommendations and provides assistive technology to each student on an individualized basis. The amount of years in the field fall short in comparison to what I admire most about Leah. She has built relationships and bonds with students, and truly cares for them as if they were her own. She is compassionate and advocates for each student. She recalls student's audiograms and specific situations without having to use her charts to recall their cases. I attribute this to her dedication and how she truly knows and cares for each student no matter how short their time was together. Leah always took the time to answer any questions someone may have had, and those conversations for me are information and recommendations that I will apply in my professional career. I am thankful I had the opportunity to work with Leah. I learned a great deal from her and she will be missed by many.
