Marilyn Guerich was nominated by her colleague, Janet Watson.
Mrs. Guerich teaches children aged 3-5 who have challenges. Her incredible, buoyant attitude lifts children and coworkers alike. She smiles and responds positively when told that her schedule has changed, or if new students are added to her class. No matter what comes up in the day, she figures out a way to do her job in a joyful way.
The safety of her students is paramount to her. If her assistant is out, she will let the office know that she needs another adult to keep her room safe. She has dealt with unreasonable adults on many occasions, but she's able to calm them down and communicate with them.
"Marilyn gets her job accomplished with her effervescent attitude, no matter what comes up in her day," said Watson. "She will be missed by children, parents, teachers, and staff when she retires in June."
