LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Julia Hood was nominated by her colleague, Dr. Tameka Hyland.

Ms. Hood is one hardworking woman! She is the assistant principal at Vicksburg High School, and she leads the communication, arts, and business academy. She worked behind the scenes to ensure that students were granted real-world experiences by opening up the "Gator Store." The pandemic did not stop her from pushing forth the vision of Vicksburg High School and the Vicksburg-Warren School District. She made sure that students were afforded the opportunity to lead during the pandemic. Students were at the forefront, and they had the opportunity to display their knowledge and skills. In addition, she works to build authentic relationships with teachers in the building and provide them with opportunities to have a voice.
