LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Robbin Howard was nominated by an anonymous student.

Mrs. Howard is an outstanding teacher. She shows compassion and sympathy for other students. Her kindness and warm heart can change a student's entire mood for the rest of the day.

"She has made such an impact as my 8th grade teacher," said the student. "She's very detailed, and she teaches us about being kind to ourselves. If Mrs. Howard wasn't a teacher, the atmosphere wouldn't be as nice...She has made such a difference in my overall mood, and she always has lots of students standing by her classroom talking to her after each period. I can say that most students feel the same way as I do about her."

Mrs. Howard is a leader in her school's Language Arts department. She helps students on tough days, and even if they aren't her student, she still makes it a point to say hi to them. She also shows her leadership outside of school.

"I have personally invited her to my softball games, and she has attended quite a few," said the student. "She brought snacks to my softball game for my teammates and I, as well. I love her so so much."

Mrs. Howard has only been twice throughout this entire school year. Even if she doesn't want to, she still makes it a point to attend school every day and teach her students. She always jokes around in the classroom and makes it a safe, nice place to be. Her classroom is a kindness zone. She respects other students' identities, such as their gender, sexual orientation, pronouns, and race. Every day, she makes it a point to practice mindfulness and being kind to yourself.

"She takes everyone's feelings in mind and makes sure nothing can offend those feelings. She also makes sure any negative feelings go away," said the student. "Mrs. Howard is my favorite person in this whole world!"
