LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Diane Wetzel was nominated by an anonymous family member.

Ms. Wetzel is a dedicated educator who creates a positive atmosphere for her students and classroom. She has been a teacher for 28 years at the same school district. She has taught kindergarten, first, third, and currently fifth grade. When her administrator needed a teacher to move grade levels, Ms. Wetzel always volunteered. She has also volunteered to be on various district and school committees.

Ms. Wetzel is a very nurturing teacher. Her students know they can come to her with any concerns either about school or their personal lives. She will go above and beyond the call of duty to help her students, such as by buying them gifts they can give to their parents, purchasing clothing or food for students in need, or having classroom materials for the students.

Ms. Wetzel has a positive attitude about her career, and it's apparent in her classroom. Parents and students want to be in her classroom because she promotes character education skills and prepares the students for higher grades.
