Ms. McDougal was named the Nebraska School Counselor of the Year. She's willing to be a team player. Her problem-solving skills make her a valued member of team meetings about student concerns. She offers constructive, unique, and practical ideas for dealing with a variety of student situations. She is organized, dependable, and committed to the students and teams with whom she works. Her follow-through is prompt and thorough. Ms. McDougal is able to handle difficult, unusual situations with ease. She strives to keep up-to-date on counseling interventions. In addition, she often seeks out and is open to feedback from others.
Megan-I can't think of anyone more deserving of the Life Changer of the year award. You are a phenomenal counselor who is so passionate and dedicated to helping the kids in your community. You have proven over the years and most recently during the pandemic how creative and innovative you are in making sure that the kids come first. You have implemented so many new practices during such uncertain and difficult times that are life changing to so many kids whom are so fortunate to have you as their counselor. You have been instrumental in making certain that the kids continue to be successful during these hard times. Your work ethic, along with you loving, kind, unselfish attributes are just some of the many reasons why you are so deserving of this award. Good luck to you and no matter the outcome you are a true hero for all the work you have done and continue to do!
I am so very proud of you. I can't believe there is anyone in any school system that is as professional, responsible, and dedicated as you are. All of the creative ways you initiate to help your students is truly amazing. No wonder your students and staff love you! I know this past year, especially, you and all educators have had to go above and beyond . Yet you have done an unbelievable job in handling all the roadblocks this pandemic has thrown at you. Besides being a wonderful counselor, more importantly, you are a super mom to our grandkids. You are a special young woman who I love very much and you certainly deserve any awards and honors that come your way.
