Justine Litzko was nominated by the Idaho School Counselor Association.
Ms. Litzko was named the Idaho School Counselor of the Year. She understands the importance of social and emotional health through community building in her district and school. She has assisted with developing a school-wide plan for daily community building practices in the classroom by acquiring and providing the Sanford Harmony program to all classroom teachers, as well as other resources and support. Ms. Litzko helps build community from within.
I have worked with Justine for several years and she always goes up and beyond for her students and staff. She is extremely caring for every student and every staff member that she comes in contact with. She is absolutely more than deserving for this honor.
I have had the privilege to work with Justine. It is amazing the connection she has with the students. She makes a Difference daily in so many kids lives. As a parent I so appreciated all the support and encouragement she gave my daughter and her friends as they navigated through a lot of growing pains and struggles.
I have witnessed the positive impact she had on so many kids during a crisis at our Jr High school. She has maintained friendships with these kids as they have gotten older. School counselor is such a perfect fit for her. We are blessed to have her at our school.
Justine is an amazing counselor who strives to better the lives of everyone in the school. She is dedicated to teaching students the importance of kindness and diversity. She works tirelessly to make sure all students feel important and loved.
Life Changer is the perfect title for Justine. She changes the lives of children every day. Those in need have food and clothing because of her advocacy. Relationship skills are developed for children because she knows the importance of connections. Mental health habits are created so children can thrive. She genuinely cares for all those around her.
Justine is a blessing to Twin Lakes students and staff. She is trusted and loved by students and has an open door for any who need her. She is aware of student needs at school and beyond and puts in much effort to gain resources to take care of those needs. Justine is a great resource for teachers and is willing and able to provide guidance on how to best meet student needs. I appreciate that she consistently looks for new and innovative resources to make her work with students even more effective. She is patient, kind, fun, knowledgeable, and deserving of all the accolades she receives.
She always puts kids first. She creates caring and encouraging relationships with students, families, and faculty.

Justine Litzco goes above and beyond what is expected of her in her position as counselor. She goes out of her way to get to know the students. She's fun, fair and yet holds the students accountable for their actions....good and bad choices. For this the students and fellow teachers respect her. It is easy for anyone listening to her or watching her to know she enjoys her work and she is respected by all.
I have had the pleasure of working with Justine for the past three years. She has a heart for children and goes above and beyond her call of duties to do what is best for them. The title for this is perfect for her “life changer,” for that is what she does on a daily basis for our students.

I have the amazing privilege of working with Mrs. Litzko, and she is amazing. Both of my kiddos also attend the school where she works. She truly cares about the kids and their mental health and well being. My daughter has felt the need to talk with Mrs. Litzko about concerns in the past, and she not only helped my daughter to see the other side of her concerns, but followed up with her later to check in and make sure all was still well. She works very hard for the kids in our school district, and they are lucky to have someone so caring and compassionate.
Justine was my kids school counselor in 5th grade. She helped get my child through one of the toughest times in her life. By far the best school counselor, and one of the best people I have ever met.
Justine continues to make such a positive impact on our 2 children’s lives. A son who is in his last year of elementary school and a daughter who is currently a sophomore in high school and to this day still leans on Justine’s advice and friendship. I feel blessed to have this beautiful woman in our life, and more blessed that she has welcomed us into hers by being there unconditionally for ALL of our children at TLE. Professionally she is the best. Personally she is irreplaceable ??
Justine was my supervisor during my school counseling internship. I joined the school counseling program late and had a lot of catching up to do, yet she welcomed me with open arms and quickly & intentionally integrated me into her school community. Under her leadership I found my own sense of leadership and grew to love the school counseling profession even more. She listened to me, encouraged me, and believed in me even when I didn’t. I am a different professional (and person) because of her. Thank you, Justine!!
Ms. Litzko is an amazing support for all of the kids and staff in not only Twin Lakes Elementary but through the entire school district. She strives each and every day to support all of the needs for everyone and is an amazing counselor for our school.
