LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Susan Whatley was nominated by the Arkansas School Counselor Association.

Mrs. Whatley was named the Arkansas School Counselor of the Year. She is very personal, affable, person/family-centered, ethical, and non-judgmental. She has the ability to work well individually and collaboratively with her colleagues, other staff members, and administrators. Mrs. Whatley is very receptive to feedback. Given her exceptional background and stellar accomplishments, Mrs. Whatley has shown that she has the ability to function on a higher level than a school counselor. Most notably, her experience as a leader has significantly impacted her level of competence, compassion, and clarity with regard to students' needs. Her knowledge of how to navigate the school system has led to greater levels of advocacy for youth and their families.
