Music that Describes Tiffney
Tiffney Moss was nominated by her colleague, Gloria Menifield.
"Mrs. Moss is an exceptional educator. I have known Mrs. Moss for over three years," said Menifield. "She has made a difference in the lives of students, as well as staff. Mrs. Moss is that educator who others want to be like. She is a loving, caring teacher, and it shows in her teaching. If you ask anyone at our school, they would say they love watching Mrs. Moss teach. She shows her students compassion, empathy, and love. She not only changes their lives in class, but out of the class."
"I am nominating Mrs. Moss because she is a LifeChanger. She is that person who can move and motivate others in such a way that they don't even realize a change has happened," said Menifield. "Over the years, I have seen Mrs. Moss in action, taking students who may have been considered difficult to others and molding them in a way in which the change is noticeable. Mrs. Moss was the teacher for one of my nephews a few years back. She demonstrated her skills by getting him to be productive when others could not. She would say, 'he's not bad, he just needs to know what you expect of him.' My sister still remembers and is grateful for her caring, supportive spirit. It has been about five years since she taught him, and my sister still sends her gifts."
"Mrs. Moss has a LifeChanger attitude," said Menifield. "When I first came to this school, Mrs. Moss was one of the teachers I was introduced to as the person to go to if I needed help with anything. She has proven to be that person again and again. She has a non-judgmental, calming spirit that draws other teachers to her. When I met her, she was serving as the Grade Chair, coordinated our planning meetings, and made sure the team had the materials that would best benefit our students. Even with those responsibilities, she still listened to the needs of her co-workers when in need."
"Mrs. Moss has a LifeChanger mindset," said Menifield. "Throughout the years, her student's tests scores have grown above expectations, and her students continue to thrive academically. Mrs. Moss is also an excellent writing instructor. She knows what it takes to get her third graders to write. I observed Mrs. Moss conferencing with one of her students, and her method of motivation made the student stop and think. Then, I saw the student go back and self-correct. She has an excellent demeanor with her students. She makes her students feel confident and supported."
"Mrs. Moss has a LifeChanger spirit and a sweet, yet strong voice," said Menifield. "She not only uses that voice with Devotion 5, her church singing group, but she uses it with her students to help them understand content through music. She has also used her voice a couple times to sing happy birthday to staff. Mrs. Moss is a loving, supportive teacher who cares. You may have heard the saying, 'students don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.' It's a fitting motto for Mrs. Moss. She knows what it takes to reach her students."
"I believe Mrs. Moss is a LifeChanger because she changes lives every day," said Menifield. "She motivates and moves her students to not only strive, but to thrive in school. She is the type of teacher who others want to be like."
