Christine Lindine was nominated by her principal, Kathy Petersen.
Mrs. Lindine has served as the secretary/bookkeeper at Waterford Elementary School since April 2010. She is a diligent worker who strives for perfection at all times. She effectively provides clerical office support to ensure smooth efficient office operations and coordinates the flow of communications. Mrs. Lindine also performs a variety of financial, accounting duties and transactions accurately and within timelines. Throughout all of her duties, she strives to develop positive relationships with the community and staff while managing day-to-day interactions, as well as difficult, unusual situations as they arise.
Mrs. Lindine is a conscientious and hardworking woman who is extremely well liked by the office staff, teachers, parents and community. Her excellent rapport enables Waterford Elementary to run smoothly, even under strenuous circumstances. She enjoys learning and networking with others while ensuring the campus is a safe learning and working environment.
Mrs. Lindine exemplifies operational efficiency as evident by her precise attention to detail resulting in her receiving an error free audit. She is meticulous in preparing reports, forms and communications. Her talents as a school secretary/bookkeeper go above and beyond because of her true dedication and flexibility.
Mrs. Lindine continues to develop professionally by attending workshops that will enable her to do her job more efficiently. In January 2014, she was selected to be a part of the inaugural Emerging Leaders Program at the Management Leadership Academy. Mrs. Lindine has devoted the time and skills necessary to be a contributing member of this OCPS Leadership initiative. She is always willing to improve upon her skills and share her knowledge and experience with others. She has been called upon by district personnel to serve as a mentor to at least eight new secretaries and bookkeepers, and she is always eager to support and guide colleagues.
In addition to her regular tasks and duties, Mrs. Lindine works to enhance the lives of others by providing money, saving strategies and life skills. She has established a food pantry for any members of the staff who may be in need. She also worked at the Multi School Community Resource fair, which was sponsored by the East Learning Community Social Workers to provide classes with financial saving tips. Mrs. Lindine calls her classes “Couponing with Compassion” because the only compensation she requests is for the participants to give one coupon to a stranger as they shop.
Mrs. Lindine also volunteers her classes to nearby schools, Parent Teacher Associations and neighborhoods beyond the Waterford Lakes Community. She collects all expired coupons and sends them to members of the military serving overseas. Additionally, Mrs. Lindine assisted the Waterford Lakes Lost Pet organization by connecting them with the Waterford Lakes Homeowners Association and including them in an email blast that was distributed to over 3,000 households.
"As the principal of an elementary school, I know the importance of compassionate and high-performing team members," Petersen said. "Mrs. Lindine truly touches the lives of young learners and helps to make their futures brighter. She genuinely embraces strategic goals to assist teachers in providing an intense focus on student achievement, and she performs her own duties efficiently to ensure a safe learning and working environment. She is an essential part of my leadership team, always dedicated to do whatever it takes. She is passionate about supporting and engaging the community in all of her endeavors."

Chris , my colleague and my FRIEND. We met when my youngest attended Waterford. We had just moved here from NY. Chris was amazing with my daughter and especially me. I was very new here and she made me feel like family. From then on we were friends and very near neighbors. She does a lot for our school and community. She started a food pantry for any of our staff who are in need. She also goes to other community School and fairs to give a class on money saving strategies for couponing.. the only thing she request is that you give a stranger a coupon that you see in the store. Her kindness is contagious!! Chris make Waterford run like a smooth ship. Her skills are top notch, that even the district has seen. They have had her mentor at least eight new secretaries and bookkeepers. We here at Waterford are very lucky to have her. So in my heart Chris has already won.
Ms. Chris is so sweet and kind-hearted. Not only was she a very knowledgeable and welcoming face when my son Maxwell started at Waterford Elementary she has also welcomed us graciously as neighbors. I am so happy for the opportunity to learn more about all her contributions to the local school system and the community. Such an honor to have the chance to contribute to her nomination as the Life Changer of the Year. Goooooo Chris! Well deserved!
Chris is extremely organized, reliable and dedicated to making our school a better place. She is such a valuable part of our school. She is able to work with minimal supervision and is meticulous about everything she does. She makes sure our school office is run productively and smoothly every day of the year.
Chris’s cheerful and professional attitude is contagious. Many times things get very hectic in a school’s front office, but she is able to handle everything in a calm, professional manner. She is always the personification of calmness in tough situations.
Once you have been in her office you walk out feeling more positive about everything. Whether it’s completing her job responsibilities, mentoring a new secretary, wiping a child’s tear away or offering words of encouragement Chris is ready to step in without hesitation. Chris Lindine is the heart and soul of our school!
Christine Lindine is the definition of kindness and compassion. Ever since I was a child she has continually taught me, through example, to put the needs of others ahead of my own. She also instilled in me a sense of pride and diligence that has helped me become successful as a teacher and in the military. After many years as a principal's secretary, she still goes to work everyday with a smile on her face. She constantly speaks positively about not only her coworkers, but about the students she serves. This is a great honor for a very deserving person who I am proud to call my mom! Congrats!
Chris Lindine, is truly an asset to Waterford Elementary School. I have worked with Ms. Lindine for many years. I oversee the Internal Accounts Financials that she works with in her day-to-day activities. She works hard in following the policies and procedures of Internal Accounts in order to have the right and updated information for her school. Chris, understands the importance of staying up to-date in her bookkeeper duties. She believes in empowering herself with the knowledge needed for the good of the school. She is always pleasant and professional when calling the office for advice even in the midst of a very busy school environment or personal challenges. To know her is to really appreciate all that she does for her school. During my tenure in overseeing the Internal Accounts, I would not want to loose her as a bookkeeper, she is one of Internal Accounts finest. Thank you Chris for all that you do in adhering to the polices set before you and congratulations on your nomination.
I have known Chris since 2006. New to the job, she was chosen by my principal to be my mentor. She came from a nearby school several days each week to train me in the position of Secretary/bookkeeper and we have been great friends since then. Chris is a wonderful teacher, trainer and mentor, very thorough, organized, helpful, friendly and kind. She took a lot of time out of her day to come over to train me on what to do and how to do it efficiently and effectively. From back then until now, Chris has shown herself to be the most kindhearted person I know. She is devoted to her family above all but she gives her all to her job at all times. Chris has been through many principals in her time and she has always been appreciated and respected by them all for the knowledgeable, caring and hard-working person she is. Chris gives her all to her school. She is dedicated and committed to helping others succeed in everything they do. She is always smiling that smile and shows kindness to everyone. Chris showed me how to be a great school secretary and helped make be very successful in my job. It is a pleasure to call her my friend. Chris congratulations on a well-deserved nomination.
Mrs. Lindine is a tremendous point of light at Waterford Elementary. She provides positive motivation through inspirational quotes on her Lindine Newsline, and is always front and center helping manage the constant stream of crises that make up daily life in a busy school. Her support is greatly appreciated by teachers, students, parents, and staff.
Chris is the best! She goes above and beyond on a daily basis to help manage the craziness that can be an elementary school. She is extremely organized and just always seems to have an answer to any question you ask. She is always helping in any way she can. What’s truly amazing is that she never seems impatient or annoyed by any of our last minute changes or favor-asking. She is willing to come to rescue with a smile. Chris is awesome and an amazing person and coworker to have on your side.
Christine Lindine is a great asset to Waterford Elementary! She is always ready to help at a moments notice and is super friendly to students and parents. I recently told her of a situation in which I did not receive pictures from last years photo shoot and she went out of her way to call and get them for me in just a matter of days!!!
She is a wonderful person and deserves this recognition !!!
Ms. Lindine was very welcoming when I first came into the school. Her smile lights up the room and she always welcomes me with a hug when I see her on Mondays. She is very knowledgeable and resourceful and knows everyone in the school. She takes her time to ask how you are doing and is genuinely interested. I am very blessed to have her as my friend. She is very well deserving of this recognition and many others.
Chris Lindine is my go to person at work. If the copier doesn't work, if I need insurance information, if I need a note approved to go home, or whatever I need help in, she is there to help with a smile. Chris is always friendly, kind, and efficient. She is such a wonderful part of Waterford and I feel she deserves recognition. She is a wonderful, friend, colleague and a very special person!!!
Christine Lindine is amazing person with a warm heart. Going above and beyond to make sure no one goes without; she will often put the needs of others before her own. The compassion she has for all life is an example one can learn from. I am so very blessed to have her has my mother. I hope her outlook on the world will shape my children as much much as it has shaped me.
I am writing this note to give my recommendation for Mrs. Christine Lindine, my school's secretary. She is undoubtedly deserving of this prestigious honor for which she has been nominated. I am a teacher and have worked directly with her on a daily basis for many years. Her dedication and commitment to our school reaches over and above her position and responsibilities. She is always in the know of everything, has her walkie talkie, will jump up and run to a classroom, outside to the bus or car areas and the front office to help our staff, teachers, students, parents and substitutes in need. Her sharp memory, dedication and energy amazes me everyday. She is a true leader and undoubtedly deserving of this honor. Thank you.
Chris never ceases to amaze me. No matter how busy she is, she always makes you feel valued and important. She is kind, helpful, and always has a warm smile on her face. Her kindness and patience is admirable and truly appreciated by our staff as well as students. Chris is very deserving of this award. She goes above and beyond everyday and never seeks anything in return for all she does for Waterford Elementary. We love you, Chris.
Chris Lindine is one amazing special person! Four years ago, I moved from New York to Florida after teaching 10 years in New York. After talking with her over the phone from NY I could tell she was warm and welcoming. We had something in common which was Westchester, New York her mother still lives there and we shared this special place which gave me a piece of home. She is warm, kind and caring and gives each person individually attention to help with what they need. I could not think of a better person for this position in our school system. She's an amazing woman who goes over in an above for the needs of others!
Soon as I met Chris I could tell she was a special person. Since meeting her in August, she has been extremely helpful and welcoming. My experience at Waterford would not be the same without her!
Mrs. Lindine was my mentor when I began working as a secretary/bookkeeper. She immediately went to work by building a relationship with me, including setting her own work aside and coming to my school to assist with the daily tasks. She has always shared her knowledge and expertise so that I could run a smooth office. She has a positive attitude no matter what is going on. She has the ability to make every person feel like she is personally interested in their success. Mrs. Lindine is nurturing and encourages those around her to continue their own learning and growth by signing up for classes and webinars to further their knowledge. She is a wonderful listener and if she doesn't know the answer, she quickly finds out who can assist. I have been very fortunate to have such a genuine compassionate mentor and friend. Mrs. Lindine is a ray of sunshine wherever she goes. This is a well-deserved nomination.
Chris Lindine,
I have never met anyone so helpful, patient, cooperative. Every time I have needed assistance either on a personal or work related matter she has the answer. Her solutions are always positive and fair.
The amount of patience the woman has is beyond me. I have needed help when receipting money. She never gets upset with me. She kindly shows me how to properly turn in receipts.
Lastly, I feel that she exemplifies the term cooperative. I have seen her take on many roles that are not included in her job description. I’m positive she takes on more than what the staff she’s her do. Never once have I seen her complain about what she asked to do. It is always done with grace and integrity.
Chris Lindine is my mother in-law. "Mom" has been just that....... She has been a mother to me in almost every sense of the meaning. I never had a clear sense of what family was suppose to be like growing up. Chris, however, gave it a whole new meaning to me. She showed me what family is suppose to be. Though I am not cut from the same cloth and do not share her blood, she has always treated me like a true member of her family. I have never received anything other than love, kindness, and compassion from her.............and for all those things, I love her dearly. Chris loves her family, is dedicated to her job, and devoted to her faith. How any one person is able to handle all three with the love, patience, and grace that she does is beyond me! She is a true testament of light and goodness in this world. She is the definition of a "life changer." I am very blessed to say I was one of those lives.
I have worked with Christine for 7 years and her professionalism and helpfulness is admired and appreciated. I am always greeted with a smile and a wanting to help with whatever is needed at that moment. Chris is a wonderful colleague and is always willing to go the extra mile.
Chris is that person that everyone says "find Ms. Chris she will know what is going on" or "she will know what to do to take care of this". She will work relentlessly on something until it is done to her satisfaction.
She is always willing to help everyone, here at work or other work sites. She is there for anyone who needs it, weather the situation concerns work or something personal.
We are very lucky here at Waterford to have someone like Chris to keep us all on the right track.
Chris is a lifesaver. She’s a friend and she’s a supportive shoulder. She so incredibly busy and always, always has time for us. She has helped me with work related issues and paperwork and has hugged me when I’ve broken down in tears in her her office related to my personal life. She loves the students and wears so many “hats” during the day to keep our school running smooth. She is an incredible example of organization, empathetic heart, understanding, responsibility and positivity. I’m grateful to know Mrs. Lindine and I know our community, school and myself can always count on her coming through for us. There’s no one else like her and no one more deserving of this award. Thank you, Angie Ave
Christine is mother, sister, neighbor and friend to everyone who is blessed to know her. Chris wholeheartedly exuberates a passion for assisting everybody around her with anything they ask of her. To be in Chris’s presence is a joy. Those of us that work in the same building as Chris know that at any time .......just ask Chris.

Ms. Chris helps keep our school running smoothly with a smile! Her attention to detail is impeccable! She always greets everyone with a warm smile and is so approachable. She always goes above and beyond to keep our school, more importantly the people in it, working and cared for! She is just amazing!
Throughout the hiring process this past year, where I would eventually become Waterford Elementary's Art Teacher, Chris went out of her way at every step to help me with what was an unfamiliar, first-time process. While seeking an Art Teacher position, I naturally came in contact with several school secretaries. Chris alone stood out as an outlier for the absolute best reasons. Whereas others simply did their job, Chris went above and beyond, not just in the degree of help she provided but also in the kindness and eagerness with which she worked. I truly felt Chris was rooting for me every step of the way.
I knew Chris was someone I wanted to work with before I was even interviewed. My short time at Waterford Elementary has already confirmed what I had previously thought: that she is diligent, reliable and eager to help. Not a week has gone by that I haven't needed Chris' help on something; it is a tremendous benefit for me as a first-time teacher to have her available. She seems to know everything about the school or, for the two percent of things she doesn't know, she knows who to ask. I am very fortunate to work with her.
Thank you, Chris.
Christine Lindine is my mother who has gone above and beyond in everything she does my whole life. I have been blessed to have the privilege to call her mom , and I see firsthand on a daily basis how she is appreciated by all who know her. I am always bombarded with kind thoughts and stories whether it be at her school or in the community whenever I tell someone "she's my mom".
Thanks,
Jenn Phelps
