Robin Milliken was nominated by her principal, Kelly Patrick.

Ms. Milliken has been a teacher at Meadow Park Elementary School for many years. All of her colleagues look to her as a leader in her school. She currently teaches struggling readers in third grade who are at risk of failing. Year after year, she has successfully remediated students to ensure success, not only in third grade, but in their futures. Her data every year is absolutely phenomenal; she consistently makes a year and a half to two years of growth with students.

2020 has proven to be a very challenging year in the field of education. Teachers are juggling many obstacles and challenges and have had to slip away from all the extra things they would typically do in a year just to be able to manage simultaneous teaching. Ms. Milliken, however, has done the complete opposite. She has stepped up to be her school's Marzano liaison and work with new teachers to professionally develop them to be successful as beginning teachers. She has also stepped up to do many morale-boosting activities with both staff and students. Ms. Milliken has taken on many challenges alone and always has a smile on her face. She spreads positive messages daily on her school's morning news show. She maintains relationships with kids, both in and out of school.

Additionally, Ms. Milliken helps run a summer slide program each year for students at her school. She ensures that children have books to read and activities to do in order to make sure they do not fall behind in the summer.

"Robin has a true passion and dedication to her profession, a profession that I believe to be the most important profession in the world," said Patrick. "She teaches the future of America not only to be successful in school, but to be successful in life after school. During this time of turmoil in a lot of children's lives, she maintains those relationships that are so incredibly important for students to be successful and have confidence in their skills. Robin is a rock for her school, students, staff and community."

Mrs. Milliken not only makes a difference at her elementary school, Meadow Park Elementary, but also at her feeder high school, Forest Hill Community High. She works closely with our student leaders and groups to help them become mentors and role models for the students at her school. Additionally, Mrs. Milliken has been known to tutor our students at Forest Hill High and has always been there for our students whenever there was a need, even if it was beyond an academic one. The scale and scope of Mrs. Milliken's devotion and professionalism lead her to be a superb candidate for the "National Life Group of Life Changers" Award. Mrs. Milliken is kind, caring and compassionate. She has a great attitude no matter the situation and she continuously gives of herself and her talents in order to benefit others. Mrs. Milliken is an integral part not just of the Meadow Park Elementary community, but the greater West Palm Beach and School District of Palm Beach County!!! We love you and are so thankful for you and all you do!!! Dr. McDonnough
