J. Craig Cantrell was nominated by Kim Goss Shockley, the parent of a student.
Mr. Cantrell was at East Hall High School as the band director before moving to Cherokee Bluff High School to start a band program. He is an amazing musician and teacher. He's not only a wonderful teacher, but a great mentor who has touched so many families in the Hall County School System.
"My son is in his fourth year of college getting his MAT to follow in Mr. Cantrell's footsteps," said Goss Shockley. "Mr. Cantrell cares for his students as more than just a number. He learns who they are. He nurtures their individual gifts and pushes them to do their best. I have worked closely with the band programs at both schools, and I have been so impressed in how this teacher has touched his students' lives. I think Mr. Cantrell deserves to be celebrated!"
