LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Lisa West was nominated by her friend, Cara Roesner.

Curriculum leader. Mentor. Event Coordinator. Outstanding achiever. These are just a few of the terms that can be used to describe Mrs. West. Most importantly, she's a true hero on the Markham Woods campus.

Any students who have Mrs. West will show growth. She is patient and focused as she digs through student data to determine their deficits and then works tirelessly with each of them to encourage their strengths and polish their weaknesses. Under Mrs. West's guidance, students don’t just become better readers. They become stronger, more confident individuals. Her impact on the lives of students is beyond comparison.

"I am lucky to have known Mrs. West when she was in administration at my son's middle school, where we served on a board together," said Roesner. "I now know her a fellow mom and friend...Her sincere dedication to her passion is for life, not just a school year.  This is why, time and time again, past students return to visit with her."
