Darla Boyd was nominated by Rachel Beth, a parent.

"My son started this year not knowing a lot. He had emotional and psychological issues, but because of Darla, he has flourished tremendously," said Beth. "Now, he knows his days of the week, most of the year, and how to count numbers. I owe it all to Darla."

"Sometimes, he can't verbalize things that are going on that he does in the classroom. Darla is always patient with him and loves having him around," said Beth. "He loves going to school, which is something that I appreciate. Darla goes above and beyond with him as a teacher, contacting me and communicating with me on a daily basis as to what is going on with my son. She even drives my son and daughter home from school in the evening every night so I know they're safe."
