Ashley Siegfried was nominated by her principal, Lacey Kuyrkendall.

"My favorite thing about Ashley is how she sees past a child's behavior and understands that many times, their behavior is a product of their home life and pain that we, as adults, don't even understand," said Kuyrkendall. "She takes a student's home life and 'story' into consideration before making any decisions on how to address their behavior or how to teach them. She shows them so much love that it improves their behavior. Ashley helps each student realize their own strengths.  She teaches them that they are smart, and that everyone's 'best' looks different.  Above all, she loves her students, and they know it. She instills a love for learning early so that her students will be successful."
