Cynthia Mizell was nominated by a colleague, Dr. Sharon Goodman.

Hurricane Irma devastated Arcadia, FL and Desoto County High School. It reminded many locals of when Hurricane Charley tore the town apart in 2004. Getting the school's students, staff, and administration back to school restoring some form of normalcy as soon as  possible was a tremendous task. Mrs. Mizell worked tirelessly to help organize her school and get things ready for everyone to get back to work. She goes above and beyond the call of duty every day, and she  multitasks like a "super ninja!"

"The most remarkable thing about her is that she does all that she does and NEVER loses her smile, her humble demeanor, or her ability to make everyone who comes in contact with her feel like they have her undivided attention," Goodman said. "It is with great pride that I nominate this Super Woman, Mrs. Cynthia Mizell, as our school's LifeChanger."

Congratulations Cynthia on your nomination! You are definitely a prized asset to DHS and the community, helping students in various capacities, such as Food for Thought.

Cynthia is our "go to" person. She always makes time for anyone that stops by and makes you feel welcome and appreciated. There are times when she has a million things going on but you need something, she stops what she is doing and listens to what you need with a "no, your not bothering me, what do you need?" It is great to have forum to tell everyone how amazing she is!
