Music that Describes Deanna

Deanna Carpenter was nominated by her colleague, Cindy Wolfe.

Ms. Carpenter is a first grade teacher and a mother of two children. She's very active in her school and community. Her two children are both severe diabetics, so her responsibility as a mother has been greater than some, but she manages to reach out to others in need. She orchestrates and serves on committees, and her family has even coached midget league sports while fulfilling her duties as teacher. She spearheads the Earth Day activities at her school, as well as fundraisers for St. Jude and other nonprofit projects.

Deanna has been an colleague and a best friend of mine for the past 13 years. When I first began teaching first grade, she taught me so many things about teaching. If I ever need anything, I go straight to her because she can always point me in the right direction with her professionalism. She has always been someone that I look up to and admire. She has faced many obstacles in her life and still remains a positive person. With both of her children being diabetic and many sleepless nights, she still arrives at work daily to inspire students and her co-workers. She has a love and spark for teaching that is rare. She treats all children with love and respect as she would her own. Deanna deserves to receive this award mainly because she does not perform these amazing acts of love for any kind of attention, she has a pure heart of gold and is a sweet sweet woman!

I’ve had the privilege of working with Deanna for the past 6 years and have watched her tirelessly encourage her students to be the best they can be, she is their teacher, friend, cheerleader, motivator, mentor, moral checker, corrector, guider, leader and most importantly, shares her heart with them. It’s been an honor to watch her lead and those kids into their future knowing she’s equipped them with the self confidence and determination to be world changers. It’s starts when they’re little.??

Mrs. Carpenter is a loving, kindhearted person and a dedicated, hardworking teacher. My daughter had her for first grade, and Mrs. Carpenter encouraged, challenged, and helped her reach her full potential academically all while feeling loved. Mrs. Carpenter had my daughter during the spring of the Coronavirus, and she was constantly reaching out and checking on our daughter.

Deanna is one of those exceptional colleagues who I have always enjoyed working with. Deanna goes beyond what is expected to do the job. As a teacher, she does what she would hope others would do for her children or grandchildren. As a friend you can rely on Deanna to be there for help in time of need, and as a good listener, for when times get rough. She will provide advice or even honest, positive criticism if that's what the situation warrants. She will step up to be a leader of projects when no one else will. But Deanna is not the kind of person who expects to be recognized. In fact, she is once who would rather not be in the spotlight. However, it is time for Deanna to be thrown in the spotlight. Help me in recognizing Deanna for the many years of caring and thoughtful service she has given those of us who work with her, and those students and families she has shared herself with.

You are so deserving of this award. We just moved into the district and it was Xzavier's first day at Addaville. We both were so nervous as to how well he will adjust to the new school year and new school. You were is first teacher. Not only did you make us feel welcomed but you made my son love school again. You helped him build his confidence and gave him an opportunity to show you who he really is deep down. I cant thank you enough. Your love and support changed my child's life.

Mrs. Carpenter was my child’s 1st grade teacher and what a Godsend she was! He struggled his entire kindergarten year with anxiety to the point of throwing up every morning! That all changed when he got in her class the next year! She taught him well but also made him feel loved and protected! I will always feel grateful! She truly loves the kids and teachers like her are rare!!
