Patricia Halverson was nominated by her colleague, Brittany Gores.

Miss Halverson has been working in education for so many years. Students continue to say their favorite teacher was their kindergarten teacher, Miss Halverson. She has a heart of gold and will do anything for her students. Her classroom is fun, colorful, and exactly what a kindergartner would love to have as a dream class to begin their school years.

"Patty is silly, playful, loving, and caring, but she also thrives off of structure and routine," said Gores. "Kids have told me that Miss Halverson gives the best hugs, and honestly, she does! As a colleague, there have been times when I have needed a hug, and she is always right there willing to lend a listening ear and a hug to make everything better. She is always on the lookout for new and fun things to use in her classroom with students to engage their learning experience. I love walking by her classroom and hearing her laugh along with her students. She brings so much joy to so many people! Patty will go out of her way to help students out. Whether they need shoes, socks, or underwear, she is out finding these items to make sure her students' needs are met. She connects with staff members to come together and help families out."

Patricia is always looking out for the next person. She is loving, caring and has a big heart . She is your "go to" person. She will always be there for you no matter what. When she sets out to do something you know it will get done. Patricia is well deserving of this award.

My son who is now a 6th grader still adores Miss Halverson. She came into his life at a time when he was acting out and having trouble expressing himself. The impact on his behavior and impact she has had on his life going forward is beyond words. Miss Halverson is the perfect mix of structure, holding kiddos accountable and being their biggest cheerleader. There is nothing she wouldn't do for her kids. Thank you Miss Halverson for being you, amazing!
