Music that Describes Shallyn

Shallyn Fontana was nominated by an anonymous colleague.

Mrs. Fontana is a wonderful asset to have in the Fargo Public School District. What makes her so wonderful is her heart for the students. She gets to know each student on a personal level and is always smiling. Mrs. Fontana uses her knowledge of special education, along with her heart, to personally get to know each student and staff member.

Mrs. Fontana is very organized and excels at making schedules, coordinating meetings, and creating great documents that are easy to read. Although this is only her second year in Fargo Public Schools, she came from a previous school district that loved and spoke highly of her.

Mrs. Fontana has so much spunk and passion. She understands that children all behave differently and go through traumas that shape who they are. You'll often see Mrs. Fontana walking through the hallway, smiling, and making sure each child is known by name.

I would like to also add how dedicated she is to a child's education. She would stay until 10:00 even 11:00pm at night at the school preparing the next day class material. She understood that each child need different material to exceed in their education. She worked at place with special needs children. When she found out they have never went on a field trip she went to various businesses in that town and lined up some for the kids to go to through out the summer. Her loving kind heart is genuine, her belief in a good education is strong, and her strength in seeing others strength and helping them build on that is unbelievable. There are so many more examples of the amazing things she has done as an educator but here are just a few.

I was Mrs. Fontana's substitute teacher when she had her 1st child. This substitute position was by far the most rewarding job I have ever had. I learned so much from her on how each child needs to be seen individually. I have been able to carry this with me and has helped me excel not only with my own children but any other child I come in contact with.

Mrs. Fontana is an amazing person. Beautiful inside and out. When she was at our school, she went the extra mile with our daughter and it was greatly appreciated. Things have not been the same since she left and Fargo is very lucky to have her.
