Music that Describes Yaw

Yaw Kumi-Diaka was nominated by an anonymous parent of a student.

Mr. Kumi is quiet, but powerful.  He is extremely purposeful and meaningful in his teaching style. He greets students at the door with a smile when they enter his class. When the class is over for the day, he always wishes each of them well. It's important to him that his students know he cares about them and their well-being so that each student does not have a barrier to learning. He strongly believes that he would not ask his students to complete something that he would not complete himself. He is always taking classes to ensure he is staying current with technology and information pertaining to what he teaches.

Yaw deserves this nomination and more because he truly is the definition of a life changer in my world. I’m not just saying this because he’s my husband, but I have seen how much of an impact he has on others from students to coworkers, and even friends and family members, not to mention even the impact he has had and continues to have in my life! I’m so proud of him for receiving this nomination! Yaw is so humble about the nomination and even just in general. His passion is driven by his desire to be where he is called to be and do what he is called to do! Yaw is truly an Ephesians 5 man, and I’m so blessed to be married to him! And I hope that he does win the Life Changer of the Year Award! He deserves to be recognized for his dedication to service.

I second, third, fourth, and fifth Yaw's nomination. He puts all of himself into his work and his students and I know throughout his time at Plantation High he has impacted many lives
