Tiffany Gholston was nominated by an anonymous student.
"Dr. Gholston has not only changed my life, but the lives of many other students at our school, as well as communities around the world," said her nominator. "Dr. Gholston is a fantastic teacher who creates a warm, welcoming environment for students...She gives 100% of her time and dedication to the Whitwell High School Interact club. It teaches everyone to be kind, giving, and grateful. By having her as our sponsor, our club has provided Christmas for children in the community, given a library to a school in the Philippines, donated food to food banks, raised money to end polio, and so much more! Everyone who had a part in these great experiences would have never had the opportunity without Dr. Gholston arranging ways for us to help. She selflessly dedicates herself to helping not only our community and school, but places all over the world."
The Lifechanger of the Year nomination is no surprise, as Dr. Gholston’s dedication is apparent and foremost in her ability to be a life changer for her students. I have had the pleasure of working with her over the last several years and her ability to organize and lead various projects and activities ensures her students are prepared and successful in their communities.
Tiffany goes above and beyond not only for the students in her classroom, but students throughout the school. She is a wonderful role model for the entire community we live in. The students learn a lot about giving to others. The club gives to various organizations here in the United States and abroad. Tiffany is excellent at what she does!
Dr. Gholston is constantly working on student involvement within the community. She leads the students to be self advocates and supports them in tasks they want to take on to better the school and community. She is an asset to our school, students, and community.
As a present colleague and former student of Dr. Gholston, she has been a valuable resource in improving my effectiveness in the classroom and community. She regularly takes the lead in school projects and spends 100% of her time ensuring those she teaches and those she works with have the tools they need to be successful. Dr. Gholston has provided a countless number of students opportunities in their community, state, and world that they would not have had otherwise. From fundraising, community service, and classroom instruction, Dr. Gholston's students are prepared to handle most any challenge they will meet upon graduation.
Dr. Tiffany Gholston has been a huge help to me as a new school counselor this year at Whitwell High School. She is on top of her work and supports me with mine. She helps get the seniors ready for graduation from scholarships to graduation requirements and everything in between. If I need something she is right there getting it for me. I know she is supportive of her students as well. She tries so hard to meet their needs as much as she can while staying on them to get the work done so they can graduate and meet post secondary requirements to further their education. Dr. Gholston has also done amazing work for the award winning Interact Club at our school. She works tirelessly to support the students and staff at our school. I highly recommend Tiffany for this honor.

Dr. Tiffany Gholston is one of the hardest working teachers I have ever met. This statement goes beyond the classroom obligations. She works with Interact, organizing events at the school, and countless fund raisers. But what sets Dr. Gholston apart from the rest is how relentless she is at helping students obtain success. A student doesn't have the opportunity to get lost in the shuffle or let fall between the cracks. She will call, use social media, and even show up at a home to get students where they need to be. She wants them to succeed in life. If a deadline is approaching or an application needs completed, you can guarantee Tiffany will make sure it is done.
