Carlotta Fairley was nominated by her principal, Myrick Nicks.
Ms. Fairley is widely known for her efficiency and ability to adapt to any situation. Her most valuable skill is her ability to anticipate situations, opportunities or conflicts before they happen. As the face of the guidance office, she is on the front line to assist students, parents and teachers when the need arises. As an administrator, Nicks believes that there is nothing more valuable than knowing Ms. Fairley is there to handle situations with precision and care. She is dependable, trustworthy, and reliable. Her tact and poise gains high marks in the area of professionalism and community service. Ms. Fairley's abilities to be proactive, professional and a team player creates a positive environment that transfers to others.
Over the past decade, Ms. Fairley has held a position on various groups, teams and committees. Her vast knowledge of not only the workings of middle school, but district policies and procedures, has earned her a seat on the Leadership Committee at Colmer Middle School. Her work ethic is exemplary and does not stop when her hours on the clock end. She is a caring, professional person to everyone.
Whether it's a student, parent, or teacher who needs help, Ms. Fairley is always there. She greets everyone with a smile and kindness. She has developed an efficiency-enhancing work flow process which has created improvements, making it possible to handle increased daily duties for office staff. She has also facilitated supportive services/counseling for parents to address special concerns regarding the McKinney Vento Homeless Assistance Act. Ms. Fairley organizes, sets up and facilitates a two-day onsite registration at the school.

Ms. Fairley is on of the most conscientious employee i have ever been around. She is courteous to staff, students, and parents. She is professional in every way, even when others are not towards her. When I have a question about policy or procedure, she will answer it or find the answer. If there was one person I had to chose that deserves that award, it is she.

There are not adequate words for me to describe how much I appreciate Ms. Fairley. I am a believer that the Lord brings you in connection with people for a reason. I met Ms. Fairley years ago when my family and I moved to Pascagoula. We were going through a hard time and I was worried about Christmas for my children. Another parent told me to call Ms. Fairley for help. When I did she went out of her way to make sure that I had all information that she could find on holiday help. She even put me in touch with a contact person at my children school to help me with any programs that they may have going on.
