A school needs much more than great teachers to help students achieve academic and life success. One of the most integral parts of Trent Lott Academy is school secretary, Ms. Golson. Her duties, assigned and unassigned, extend far beyond the typical clerical work. Ms. Golson often serves as a nurse, counselor and even a mom to students who see her as a shining example of excellence. Her positive, can-do attitude adds greatly to the school culture and makes the office a happy experience for all who enter.
Ms. Golson keeps impeccable records and manages her fiscal responsibilities with accuracy and strict adherence to professional standards and policies. Most importantly, she nurtures and builds relationships with students on a daily basis. Whether students are coming to her for help with an illness or need to call home, she always has a smile and a positive word for them.

As a new teacher to the campus, Ms. Tarsha Golson was instrumental in making me feel welcomed and a part of the staff. At the end of last year, I asked for a key. She made sure I had keys, location of my classroom, and a place to move my things in. She has made sure I have everything my students and I need so we can have a successful learning experience. When I have questions, she is my go-to person because always has the answers or knows where to find them. The school office runs so smoothly because of her. She's the first person my students go to for a smile every morning.
