Fionda Boyd was nominated by her principal, June Jones.
Mrs. Boyd has been the secretary/bookkeeper of Oak Hill Elementary for 13 years. She is efficient and dedicated, and she strives to be her best, regardless of her disability. Mrs. Boyd was diagnosed with lupus, a disease that affects the liver, kidneys, joints, and the skin. Although she may face some challenges, she does not let them interfere with her daily tasks, which she carries out with integrity and enthusiasm. She is present every day, interacts with staff and visitors on a daily basis, and doesn't let her disease stand in the way of a happy life.
Mrs. Boyd works in the community to raise money for lupus research and rallies her school and community to put together a Lupus Walk to raise awareness.
"Mrs. Boyd deserves to be recognized for her resilience, perseverance and consistency to do her best, regardless of her circumstances," Jones said.
