Dr. Jennifer Price was nominated by her colleague, Michelle Butler.
Dr. Price has worked for Grandview for over 20 years. She has touched the lives of children at the middle school and high school levels over the course of her career. For the last few years, she has worked as the Grandview High School principal. When Dr. Price came to GHS, change was needed to make it a more welcoming place for students and staff. During her tenure, she has created a safe, supportive, nurturing culture at her school while also focusing on improving academics. She has outstanding relationships with her students, staff, and community. She is a mentor to other principals in her district. They see her as a leader, friend, and sounding board.
Dr. Price works outside her job description all the time. She can often be found weeding school grounds, painting walls in the locker room, putting together furniture for classrooms, moving equipment, etc. She knows the importance of creating a school that is warm and welcoming for students, and she will do whatever it takes to make that happen.
"Dr. Price is an outstanding individual and educator," said Butler. "We are sorry to see her go, but know that she is ready to retire to spend time with her grandchildren and pursuing other interests. Grandview High School is a better place because of her efforts as its principal."
