LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Carlissa Vaughn was nominated by a colleague, Robin Elder.

Ms. Elder is new to Harmony Science Academy, and Ms. Vaughn helped her feel comfortable and adapt to a new school and new posiiton. In her position as office manager, Ms. Vaughn serves as the beating heart of her campus. Her ability to multi-task and maintain order is commendable. 

"If you look up 'LifeChanger' in the dictionary, you are bound to see Carlissa's photo. She is a great representation of what a LifeChanger is," Elder said. "I have been in education for a while, and she is special. She truly takes ownership on campus. If she sees a need, she tries to fill it. Whether it be with research, organizing, or with good old sweat equity, she is invested."

As the heart of Harmony Science Academy, Ms. Vaughn keeps her school alive, even when it's demanding. It's her unwaivering dedication and spirit, however, that sets the tone for her school's culture.

Ms. Vaughn is a single mother of two children and lives an hour away, but she is committed to her school's staff and teachers. Every day, she makes an impact on her students' learning environment and strives to improve it on a daily basis!
