Bob Williams was nominated by his wife, Barbara Williams.

"My husband has been teaching since 1987 and began teaching at Manchester Elementary School in South Central Los Angeles," said Mrs. Williams. "He truly cares about the success of his students. Reading is the key to success. During the COVID-19 shutdown, he has held reading groups every day, including Saturday and Sundays at 10 a.m. He is averaging 18 students in reading group every day. The students enjoy reading a chapter book and several picture books. Reading is the key to success!"

Thank you for the nomination. Reading is the key to success in education. I miss my reading groups in my classroom, but having reading group on-line has been successful. My students are still making progress on word attack skills and reading fluency. My goal is to make reading fun for my students and allow my students to love reading for the rest of their lives.
