Peggy Osterhoudt was nominated by an anonymous student.

"Mrs. Osterhoudt is an amazing teacher. In my opinion, she is one of those teachers who you don't realize how lucky you are to have," said her nominator. "She is fun in the classroom, and she engages us with labs. She's also really good at helping us connect complex ideas to things we are more familiar with. Mrs. Osterhoudt is also very flexible, allowing us to take more time on complex topics if we need to and allowing us to move forward sooner if we grasp the topic quickly. She demonstrates a tough love that pushes us to do our best and strive to be better, while also understanding that things happen. She gives us plenty of time to turn in work."

"Most importantly, Mrs. Osterhoudt stepped up to the plate when we moved to digital learning due to the coronavirus," said her nominator. "She took it as an opportunity to teach differently. For topics involving succession, she took us into her backyard via video and showed us each level of succession. She also said how proud she was of us, and helped each person where they needed it"

I strongly support this nomination. I worked with Peggy for many years. She is the ultimate professional. She gives 110% in the classroom every day. She has some of the highest standardized test scores in our district. She is always willing to pitch in and help. She also taught my daughter. My daughter learned more science in one semester with Mrs. Osterhoudt than she did in entire years some years. Mrs. Osterhoudt helped to build a love for science in my daughter. She truly is one of the finest.
