She is a great help to her grade level and the school as a whole.
I have been blessed to work with Carol for 14 years at Wacona. In addition to being an excellent role model and mentor for me as a new teacher, she also poured so much love into my own child. My daughter still loves Mrs. Reed and cherishes her memories from her 1st grade school year. Thank you, Carol, for all that you do for the students at Wacona and in Ware County. You are an inspiration and I will definitely miss you, as well as miss hearing your class sing every morning after the announcements.
Mrs. Reed has taught all 4 of my babies and we all loved her so much! Congratulations!!!

I count it an honor to have worked with you. I will miss you! Best wishes for your new adventure in life.
You were one of the first teachers I met when I started there as the school nurse. You were always so kind to me as well as others. Congratulations on your retirement. God bless!

Carol Reed’s passion, dedication, and love for educating youth extends beyond her classroom. I’ve grown to know, respect, and admire Mrs. Reed as she impacted our community by working with youth to expose them to opportunities and experiences. Her dedication exemplifies the mantra “it takes a village”. It’s not enough just influence her children at home and on her job. Carol Reed is indeed a life changer positively impacting the lives of those she encounters.

I worked with Carol at Wacona. One year, I worked a hour in the classroom as a resource teacher. Carol made her classroom a loving, lively, and exciting environment. The students were happy, and the environment was conducive to learning, yet fun. Not only did she have a positive impact on students, she also had a positive impact on the school staff. She was always happy and chipper. She deserves the honor.
Mrs.Reed,
You was such a wonderful influence in Erica’s life, she talks about you often and misses you so much. You are such an amazing Lady thank you for all you have done over the many years enjoy retirement we love you
I was blessed and privileged to have Mrs. Reed as my 1st grade teacher. She is such an amazing and wonderful woman. She is my favorite teacher out of all my teachers going through school. She gave me some great advice and inspiration about life. There is never a moment that I could remember that she wasn’t helping me or one of her students. She loved and loves her students. She treated them like her own children. The best teacher ever hands down.
Congratulations Carol!! It was a joy to work with you in my Wacona days... You were always sweet, kind and full of joy!! Shine bright in retirement sweet friend!
Not only did I have the pleasure of working at the school with Carol, but she taught my son. He was struggling with a second year in 1st grade. She guided him, supported him, and loved him just like a mom would do. He began to blossom that year. She deserves this title for all the years she has given, and nurtured children’s minds, hearts, and souls.
When I worked at Wacona I started out as a sub! I subbed in Mrs. Reeds room... she was very connected and involved in her students lives and their well being. I went on and taught as a paraprofessional under Cathy Self and was in the school system for 9 yrs. each day I seen Mrs. Reed she always was smiling and greeting everyone with positive words. I pray she enjoys her retirement cause she deserves every minute of it. She will definitely be missed by many. Sandy Melton
Carol, you are not only an amazing teacher, but you're an amazing person all the way round. Honey, you're super fly & you helped me to become the teacher I am today????
It has been my privilege and joy to work with Carol for the last 10 years. She loves her students and goes above and beyond to give each child what they need. She is also very supportive of her team and other co-workers. She's been such a blessing to our grade level, Wacona Elementary, and our community!
Carol Reed is the epitome of a life changer. Carol has gone above and beyond to make sure the youth of today has someone in their corner. Carol has always enjoyed taking care of and nurturing her students. Education is extremely important to her, but love conquers all. Carol makes sure that her students feel loved and that they leave her classroom feeling their best. Even after years of teaching, there are not many (if ever) students that do not remember Mrs. Reed. She has made and impact on the youth at her school and in her community. Carol is very involved with the youth of her church and Waycross community. Even during the pandemic, Carol has found ways to love and impact the youth while social distancing. I am Carol’s goddaughter and she has made a great impact on me. I truly look at her as my second mother. Carol has always made sure to be in my life. Whether it is a simple solo in a show, prom, or my graduation, Carol has been there— no matter how many miles she had to travel. She is a true life changer and a spirit lifter. No matter how down someone may be, she will find a way to make you smile. Carol has been great to every youth and human she has come in contact with. I can not think of anyone more deserving of these awards, and even without them she shines!
Carol Reed believes in teaching children as if they are your own and as her daughter, I've witnessed just this. Over the years, Carol has gone over and beyond for her students and her parents and she continues to keep up with them through adulthood. Carol is always thinking of ways to give back to the youth of her community. She is heavily involved with the youth at her church and in her community. Young people are my mother's joy. Even in retirement, she will continue to do what she can to make a positive impact on today's youth.
Carol, is a genuine person, humorous, & kind. She had taken me under her wings and mentored me when I was a beginning teacher. She taught 2 of my children, and you can see the passion she has for her students’ learning as well as parental involvement. She has great classroom management as well. I look up to this woman because she is one that can tell you those “difficult things to say, but need to be said” & articulate it so pleasantly that one can’t jump to offense. It amazes me! She’s a very considerate person on the job and off of it. I’ve seen this woman help parents that had no one else! She’s just a beautiful person in general! I nominate my colleague, my friend, my sister, Carol Reed!!
