Music that Describes Lillie

Lillie Dunican was nominated by an anonymous colleague.

Mrs. Dunican has been an assistant and bus driver for 25 years. As a bus driver, she gets up early each morning to pick up high school students and take them to school. Once she finishes with that task, she goes to the middle school to help students with special needs in any way possible. She helps students get off school buses, out of cars, get meals, take electives, use the bathroom, and get ready to go home. She also changes students if needed, guides instruction to small groups, and guides students with classroom jobs.

Additionally, she coaches the students in Special Olympics before and during each event. Mrs. Dunican will be out on the soccer field in her sneakers guiding the students on how to kick, defend, score, and be a great sport.  As the event draws closer, Mrs. Duncian will put on her sneakers and run up and down the field or court working on game skills with the students for soccer and basketball.  For spring games, she's back out on the fields, working on softball throws with small groups, walking and running with the students, and practicing running and standing long jump. Mrs. Dunican does this every day with a smile on her face and joy in her heart.  She loves the students every day, even when they're being difficult or struggling with something.

"Mrs. Dunican has helped students for the past 25 years in any way possible," said her nominator.
