Music that Describes Sheryl

Sheryl Browner was nominated by her colleague, Donna Albrecht.

"When students need to have a cheerleader, an advocate, a problem solver, or even a friend, they don't have to look any farther than Sherry Browner. Having the privilege of working side by side with this amazing educator for the past 13 years has been an honor," said Albrecht. "In all of that time, Sherry has never given up on trying to find a way to reach and teach students with a variety of special learning needs."

Mrs. Browner works countless hours to implement and teach new strategies to students, communicate with parents, and navigate the legal ramifications that are part of special education. She's a lifelong learner, even attending Zoom presentations during a pandemic to learn the latest information about children with multiple diagnoses weeks before her retirement. She shares what she learns with staff members who might have students who can benefit from it.

"While we have taught third graders together, her true love is working with students who are just getting started in school and not understanding this new, strange place," said Albrecht. "She gently creates a path to learning for new students and becomes their lifeline as they learn strategies to help them learn to read, write, and do math. Out of all the qualities that Sherry imbues, her integrity, positive outlook, and empathy are what I admire about her the most. She always finds a way to see an issue from the perspectives of all players; students, parents, and teachers. Then, she works to find a way to bring these perspectives in alignment to create a viable education plan for her students. She is fair and honest, and she cares so much about her students. While she deserves to begin this next phase of her life, I don't know how our school and her students will ever be able to replace what she has given us all."

Ms. Browner, you are "Hardest Working Person," NOT in showbiz. Although, it seems you are, as you are continuously moving from one scene to another, making sure everyone knew their lines and had their scripts handy. The way you work with all the actors to ensure they had all they need to be successful. The stage that you prepared for the audience to come and sit comfortably amongst the crew and answer all their questions. You completely orchestrated all the behind the scene parts, perfectly. All that you did at Bond Mill has allowed this show, our show, to be one of the best shows in town. I'd even say the County and probably the State. So I say to you, as so many have said already, "Thank you." You were the best director for our "Award Winning Movie." Your tutelage will allow us to continue your legacy with an infinite amount of sequels.

Sherry is the most dedicated, hardworking, sincere special educator that I have the pleasure to have worked with for the past 10+ years. Her tireless work ethic and endless energy are truly extraordinary!! Sherry is often one of the first to arrive to school and one of the last to leave. She leaves nothing undone and will give everything she has in meeting her students as well as anyone that needs help. She has been not only a role model to me, but someone I will always consider a close friend! I'm sure that others would agree that few work harder at their craft than Sherry browner!!

Mrs. Browner is an amazing educator and person. She has been a mentor to me in my own journey as an educator. Her dedication to her students is awe inspiring. Each student she crosses paths with gets her undivided attention. Mrs. Browner is a fierce advocate for her students, giving them every support they need to be successful. She gives tirelessly to ensure her students needs and goals are met and often far exceed the anticipated outcomes. Her enthusiasm for her student's successes and support for their misconceptions is like none other. Her contributions to special education have been invaluable. Her presence in our school has impacted our staff and all of our students in ways we all benefit from, in so many positive regards, it is impossible to measure. All the while remaining as humble as one can be. Mrs. Browner is a treasure that we have been so very fortunate to have at our school, for our students. The world is definitely a better place because she is in it.
